Creating a Vector layer in Workspaces


1. In Workspaces click on add

2. Click on Create New and choose Vector Layer

3. In the field Vector Layer Name add a name

Optional: you can add Attribute by clicking on the + Button.

4. A new row will appear where you can fill in the attribute items

You need to assign a name. You can choose Default Value or own value. From Type you can choose from String or Number. You can add multiple attributes to your Vector Layer. You can also delete an attribute if desired. Click on save.

5. Start adding features to your vector layer, such as lines, polygons or points. In this example polygons and points are added to the vector layer.

In this example we will add 2-polygon and 2-point features to our Vector layer. Click on the pencil button to create vectors. A question mark symbol is visible as long as there are no features in your vector layer.

6. After finished with adding features to your vector layer you can inspect your work.

You can make your vector layer visible to inspect your work.

8. You can check the features by opening Features Table

In this example we added 4 features to our vector layer.

9. Click on Features Table

In this example the Feature table shows you the 2-polygons and 2-points that have been created with each a Feature ID number.

10. You can make changes to your Vector layer

For example you can add if desired labels to your features.
